A glimpse of what to expect during your 6-day journey

1

Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Nakuru National Park

Your safari adventure begins early in the morning at 7:00 AM, with a scenic drive from Nairobi through the Great Rift Valley. A brief stop at a Rift Valley viewpoint allows you to soak in sweeping panoramic views and capture memorable photographs. You’ll continue toward Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for your first game drive, exploring this compact yet wildlife-rich park. Lake Nakuru is famed for its flamingos, rhinos (both black and white), Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, and tree-climbing lions. The shallow alkaline lake, acacia woodlands, and rocky escarpments create a stunning natural setting. As the sun sets, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, you’ll depart Lake Nakuru and drive south toward Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake fringed by papyrus reeds and acacia trees. The drive is short and scenic, allowing you to arrive by late morning. Upon arrival, you may enjoy lunch before heading out for a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you’ll glide past pods of hippos and spot fish eagles swooping gracefully over the water. Later, you can visit Crescent Island for a guided walking safari, offering a rare opportunity to walk alongside giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and antelopes in a peaceful, predator-free environment. The day ends with relaxation at your resort, enjoying the tranquil lakeside atmosphere.

3

Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you’ll depart at around 7:00 AM for the iconic Maasai Mara National Reserve, driving through picturesque countryside dotted with small towns and rolling hills. You’ll arrive in the Mara around midday, just in time for lunch at your safari camp or lodge. In the afternoon, you’ll embark on your first Maasai Mara game drive. This vast savannah is world-renowned for its exceptional wildlife density. Expect to encounter elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, vast herds of wildebeest and zebras, and numerous bird species. The golden grasslands stretching endlessly under the African sky create a truly cinematic experience. You’ll return to camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

4

Day 4: Full Day in Maasai Mara

This day is dedicated entirely to exploring the Maasai Mara. After an early breakfast, you’ll set out for a full-day game drive, carrying packed lunches to maximize time in the reserve. July is an excellent period for wildlife viewing, often coinciding with the Great Migration, when massive herds of wildebeest and zebras move through the Mara in search of greener pastures. You’ll explore different regions of the reserve, including riverine areas where crocodiles and hippos are found, and open plains where big cats hunt. Your guide will track wildlife activity, ensuring close and respectful encounters with nature’s most iconic animals. After an exhilarating day, you’ll return to camp in the evening for dinner and a restful night.

5

Day 5: Maasai Mara Exploration & Leisure

You’ll begin the day with an early morning game drive, one of the best times to spot predators as they conclude their night hunts. The soft morning light offers exceptional photography opportunities and a peaceful safari atmosphere. After breakfast, the rest of the morning can be spent at leisure at the camp, enjoying the views, relaxing, or simply listening to the sounds of the wild. In the afternoon, you’ll head out for another game drive, delving deeper into the reserve and revisiting favorite wildlife hotspots. This flexible day allows you to fully immerse yourself in the rhythm of the Mara before your final night in the savannah.

6

Day 6: Maasai Mara to Nairobi (Optional Maasai Village Visit)

After breakfast, you’ll check out and begin your journey back to Nairobi. En route, you have the optional opportunity to visit a traditional Maasai village (at an extra fee). This cultural experience offers insight into the Maasai way of life, including their customs, traditional dances, homesteads (manyattas), and deep connection to the land and wildlife. It’s a meaningful way to conclude your safari, blending cultural heritage with your wildlife experience. After the visit, you’ll continue the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of a truly unforgettable Kenyan safari adventure.
